Bottom Layer:
The bottom layer of laminate flooring is made from soft or needle-leaved trees like birch, spruce, and pine. It is 2 mm thick and produced in a single piece, glued perpendicularly to the middle layer and in the same direction as the solid top layer. This layer provides structural support and prevents the flooring from warping.
Middle Layer:
This layer, composed of small strips of needle-leaved trees such as fir, is 9 mm thick and is produced by slicing and gluing the strips perpendicularly to the top and bottom layers. It provides the flooring with stability and resistance to twisting.
Top Layer:
This layer is 3-4 mm nominal thickness, made from high-quality hardwoods, and can be renewed by sanding. It is the solid top layer that gives the laminate flooring its main appearance.
